This is a Meigs County, TN Surplus Vehicle and Equipment Auction. The Meigs County Sheriff’s Dept. has Surplus – NON Running Vehicles up for bids and the Meigs County Highway Dept. has Dump Truck, 2 Pickup Trucks, Oil Distribution Truck, Road Sweeper and Brake Lathe up for bids. Lots 1-9 are non-running vehicles with titles. Lot 10 is (15) scrap vehicles with NO Titles and there will be NO Titles. Some of these have no motors, some have been wrecked, some have no wheels or tires, all do not and will not run. The Highway Dept. vehicles, Lots 20-23, DO Have Titles and DO Run. Lot 10, the high bidder, will have 10 business days after the auction in which to remove the 15 cars from the Sheriff Dept. yard.

Pick up: Tuesday, March 18 – from the Meigs County Highway Dept. from 9am – 12pm noon – from the Meigs County Sheriff Dept. 1pm – 4pm. All times are Eastern Time.
15% Buyers Premium will be added to the total bid price. Sales Tax will be due on each vehicle. Payment will need to be made payable to Powell Auction. Cash, Cashiers Check or Wire Transfer ONLY!! We do not accept credit/debit cards for vehicle purchases. Payment may be made at Powell Auction Offices in Knoxville on Friday, March 13 after the auction until 5pm or on Monday, March 17 from 9am – 5pm ET. All vehicles are being sold as is where is with all faults. No guarantees nor warranties are given nor implied. All vehicles at the Sheriff’s Dept. DO NOT RUN!!! Some have bad water pumps, some have been wrecked, some have no motors, some have no wheels and some have other unknown issues and problems. Be sure you inspect these vehicles before bidding. The pickup trucks, dump truck and oil distribution truck at the Highway Dept. DO RUN.

From Knoxville: Take I-75 South, Exit at the Athens, Exit 49, Turn Right onto Highway 30, Then Right onto Highway 58, Then take a Left onto River Rd. The Meigs County Sheriff’s Dept. will be on your Right just past the Post Office. You will need to turn Right off River Rd. onto Jones St. just past the Sheriff’s Dept. for the Highway Dept. It will be your second right inside fenced in area. Meigs County Highway Dept. sign is on the building.
